Gradus Score

Practice that follows the DSE marking scheme.

Weak points are analysed from the existing question bank. Gradus AI generates new practice to raise learning efficiency. Gradus AI is a teacher who follows the syllabus and that student's record.

  • iPad (Apple Pencil) and Android tablets. Not a phone, and there is no student website.
  • Chinese, English and Mathematics, S1–S6. The structure reserves M1 and M2. The content comes later.
  • The interface and Gradus AI can switch among Traditional Chinese, English and Simplified Chinese. Chinese papers stay in Chinese, English papers in English, and mathematics papers are mostly in English. Gradus AI's Chinese is written Chinese, and traditional or simplified follows the interface.

Marked against that subject's scheme.

The five steps below are for long mathematics questions. Chinese and English are marked to that paper's guidelines. Question types are not set.

  1. 01

    Writing

A long question keeps (a)(b)(c), and is submitted once when finished.

  2. 02

    Recognition

Handwriting becomes high-accuracy text and formulas.

  3. 03

    Confirm

The student confirms the converted text and formulas.

  4. 04

    Marks

Each part receives a method mark (M) and an accuracy mark (A). The target for a long question is within 30 seconds (p95).

  5. 05

    Explanation

Every lost mark has a reason. A student can flag “marking looks wrong”. The first release does not change the score immediately.

Four kinds of practice

Practice

Questions arranged by topic. S1–S6

Quiz

A shorter timed or untimed check. S1–S6

Test

A fuller paper. S1–S6

Mock exam

In the form of the DSE. S6 only

Each item: subject, form, year level, topic, difficulty 1–5, question type, language. Mathematics also has Compulsory Part, M1 and M2.

Target (not yet met): at least 50 questions in each year level. At least 2 mock exams in S6.

Students can upload their own PDF, then answer it on the tablet.

Gradus AI is a teacher who follows the syllabus and that student's record.

It will

Analyse weak points from the existing question bank, generate new practice, explain this paper, name strong and weak topics, answer “what should I do today”, and write a note a school teacher can read.

It will not

Do outside homework that was pasted in, answer questions outside the three subjects, or mix a school account with a personal account.

Example (mathematics, not a real student)

Gradus AIStart with 3 questions on the discriminant. You lost 4 marks on this topic last week.

StudentWhy did 12(b) get no accuracy mark?

Gradus AIThe method was right, so there is a method mark. Expanding (x − 3)², the constant term should be +9, so the accuracy mark was lost. Try 2 questions of the same kind?

Practice follows what this student gets wrong.

  • Lost marks land on a topic. The weakest come first.
  • Weak points are analysed from the existing question bank, then new practice is generated.
  • The student and the school teacher see the same record. The parent view is on the roadmap.

Example (S4 mathematics, not a real student). These percentages belong only to this example.

  • Trigonometry41%
  • Statistics49%
  • Coordinate geometry58%
  • Functions and graphs64%
  • Probability73%
  • Quadratic equations82%

One student's week.

Example journey · Mathematics

  1. Mon

Start with 3 questions on the discriminant. This topic lost 4 marks last week.

  2. Tue

Finish a timed test, then marking after submission. S6 can do a mock exam first.

  3. Wed

Every lost mark has an explanation. Question 12(b) was a sign error.

  4. Thu

8 trigonometric-ratio questions, because this is the weakest topic now.

  5. Sun

Trigonometry moved from 41% to 55%. The teacher sees the same thing.

From submission to step-by-step feedback is tens of seconds, not days. The student and the teacher see the same evidence. The parent view comes later.

Not in the first release

  • Teachers cannot rewrite an AI score. They can flag a problem.
  • No student website, phone app, or offline papers.
  • No separate parent dashboard.
  • No physics or chemistry yet.
  • School sign-in is email and password. Single sign-on comes later.
